Blog

There are many blogging platforms on the internet. Although it may seem simple, starting a blog requires more effort than you would think.

Having good writing skills and being passionate about a specific discipline is not enough to be successful. In fact, to obtain the right notoriety on the web, in-depth study and research is required. Furthermore, having knowledge in SEO copywriting can make a difference, especially during the writing phase.

Relying on a digital marketing agency can prove successful if you want to create a blog for your company website.

Below is the case study of one of our clients who decided to contact us at Ekeria, a digital marketing agency based in Milan, for the creation of a blog dedicated to the world of cleaning.

Our customer

Our client has long wanted to start a blog to provide users with house cleaning advice and tips.

Due to lack of time and specific knowledge regarding writing platforms, applications for producing graphics, content creation, and SEO skills, they decided to contact us to make this become a reality.

After listening to all their requests, we have elaborated and proposed a detailed strategy. Following numerous meetings and continuous support from the customer, we have created the blog "Art of Cleaning".

The path taken to create the blog

For the creation of the blog, we focused on and followed a precise and detailed strategy, involving our marketing office and the programmers who have contributed to creating the blog website.

It was only thanks to the pooling of the skills of our entire team that we were able to complete this project and meet our client's needs.

Below, we present you in detail how we put our strategy into practice!

Competitor research and analysis

First, we performed in-depth research based on our client's possible competitors.

After having identified the main competitors, we analyzed their way of operating, studying the contents they had published, the topics dealt with and their graphic and creative content.

Observing the behavior of competitors is essential when you want to enter a market and sell a product or service of any kind. Only by analyzing the competition is it possible to stand out, develop a winning strategy and get noticed by users.

Target

When you want to offer any product or service, online or offline, it is important to bear in mind the specific target you want to address. Only in this way is it possible to create targeted content, that is of high interest to users.

Creating a buyer persona can help you better understand the needs and requests of potential customers and consequently create content that is satisfying and in line with their needs.

In the case for "The Art of Cleaning", we hypothesized that the blog could be particularly useful to young men and women, beginners with house cleaning, and students who find themselves managing their own home for the first time, but also expert housewives looking for specific advice.

Name and logo

The name and the logo are fundamental as they represent the business card and are the first elements that users see online. For this reason, investing time, resources, and energy in identifying a name that fits along with an appropriate logo is necessary to stand out from the competition and get noticed.

The name and logo must be as clear and memorable as possible. Only in this way is it possible to increase the probability that users will remember the service when they need it.

Our client wanted a simple and elegant name, with a reference to the world of cleaning. After several proposals, we thought of "The Art of Cleaning".

As far as the logo is concerned, a careful analysis of the competitors' logos was carried out before developing the proposals.

Proposal 1

As a first proposal, we thought of a water droplet with two lateral stars to recall the concept of brilliance, associated with cleaning. This logo was adapted for two colors: lilac and green. A version of the logo with a droplet and a single star has also been designed.

The proposed font is clean, simple, and easy to read.

Proposal 2

For the second proposal it was decided to focus on the stars, eliminating the water droplet and adding two accompanying small circles.

The colors used in the design are lilac, blue and green. Furthermore, it was also proposed to make the lettering the same color as the logo.

Proposal 3

The third proposal steps away from the designs of the first two proposals: the water droplet and the stars have been replaced by a stylized P, resembling a brushstroke, to reconnect to the word "art", and at the same time a wipe with a sponge, symbolic of cleaning. Different variants of the letter have been made, including thick and with different bending angles.

Also, for this proposal, two different shades of green, one lighter and the other darker, and the color lilac have been included in the design.

In this case, a more elegant and articulated font was also proposed.

The choice

After a comparison, the customer chose the third proposal, to which some modifications were made. The P in the logo has a greater curvature than before. In addition, the elegant dark green font was the preferred option.

SEO and keyword

For the blog to be clearly visible online, during the article writing phase we conducted a SEO analysis, which is a search for keywords r most searched by users. To perform this research, we used Semrush, a platform that is particularly useful for optimizing the website on search engines.

Writing from the perspective of SEO is essential if you want your articles to rank high on the internet. Furthermore, investigating the most used keywords has allowed us to understand the needs of users and create specific content.

The Art of Cleaning website was therefore designed and developed to be easily found by search engines such as Google. The goal is to improve the website's positioning on search engines, so that it can reach a higher position in the results and attract more users to the site.

Editorial plan

After understanding the customer's requests and analyzing the potential needs of the target, we created an editorial plan: four articles relating to the world of household cleaning were scheduled for each month. For each article we have also provided a re-sharing post on the Art of Cleaning Facebook page, as created by us.

Website

Our programmers have created the website of the blog Art of Cleaning using WordPress, an open-source software ideal for creating blogs and websites.

The Art of Cleaning website has been optimized to be responsive, i.e., able to automatically adapt to the size of the screen of a device, be it a smartphone, a tablet, or a computer. This ensures a smooth and trouble-free browsing experience for users accessing the site from mobile devices.

The homepage of the website presents the various articles published with the cover photo in evidence. We have also added a section called "don't miss out" with further interesting articles.

We have given the possibility for users to contribute to the growth of the blog: by clicking on "write an article" it is possible to create an article after registering on the site, which will then be proofed by the editorial staff and if suitable then published.
